Rebecca Abbott

Rebecca Abbott is a professional learning and implementation lead at The Lawrence Hall of Science. In this role, she engages in national partnerships and projects that support state and district instructional leaders and classroom teachers in implementing research-based science instructional materials and approaches designed at The Lawrence. She designs and facilitates professional learning experiences, authors science instructional materials, and writes papers and presentations focused on multilingual learners, science and literacy, localization, and instructional leadership in elementary science.

Prior to joining The Lawrence in 2012, Abbott was an elementary teacher and instructional coach in San Francisco Bay Area public schools for over 15 years, focusing on literacy, multilingual learners, and multi-tiered systems of support. She holds a Master of Arts in Education from San Francisco State University and a BS in Elementary Education from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
